Can’t make it into a clinic? Remera is a specialised mobile service, offering the convenience of
physiotherapy in the home, workplace, school or community setting. With a focus to improve access
to quality therapy, our mobile service is ideal for individuals with transport constraints, or those with
limited time to travel to a clinic.
Book a physio home visit by calling us on 0404 320 524.

How does a physio home visit assessment and treatment work?We will bring a portable treatment table and a case of supplies to your home and set up a treatment space in a suitable room in your home (kitchen or living room usually works best). We only require that you have a space large enough to set up the portable table and possibly to demonstrate and perform physical therapy exercises. We have access to most of the same treatment tools that are available in-clinic.
-
Do I need a referral?Generally a medical referral is not required to see a physiotherapist at Remera. However, a GP referral is required if you are claiming through Medicare, DVA or WorkCover.
-
When are appointments available? We offer appointments from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Urgent appointments may be available out of hours, subject to availability.
-
How do I prepare for my session? We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that gives us access to the areas we need to assess or treat. Therefore, it is advised for lower back and lower limb injuries that shorts are worn, and for neck and upper limb injuries, a singlet top is worn. If you have any concerns with this, please don’t hesitate to discuss them with your physiotherapist. Please have available any scans or medical reports, along with your referral if you have one. We request pets are secured away from the treatment space.
-
What if I need to cancel my appointment, or forget to show up?We ask for 24 hours notice on cancellations, as your appointment time is reserved just for you. However, we understand that things come up and you may not be able to make your appointment. In this case, we ask that you give us as much notice as possible. Please note, you will be charged the full consultation fee if we travel to your appointment and you are not home, or if you fail to cancel your appointment within 24 hours of your appointment time.
-
How do I pay for the service? We can accept cash or eftpos (debit, Visa or Mastercard), using an electronic payment app. We can also process private health insurance rebates via HealthPoint, as well as claims via DVA and Medicare, however a gap payment may apply. A digital receipt will be sent to you upon payment. For NDIS participants, WorkCover patients and aged care recipients, we will seek payment directly from your plan manager or case manager on your behalf.
-
Is physiotherapy covered by health insurance? If you have a private health insurance policy with extras cover, it may cover physiotherapy treatment. The rebate you receive will depend on your level of cover, and a gap payment will normally apply. If you have any questions about your insurance cover, please contact your insurer directly. We are registered with HealthPoint and can automatically process rebates from the following participating funds: AAMI ahm Apia Bupa Defence Health Emergency Services Health Frank Health Insurance GMBHA IMAN ING Health Insurance Medibank nib Priceline Health Insurance Police Health Qantas Insurance Suncorp Teachers Union Health Union Health
